In 1876, Christ Church Blacktown began in a small building on Flushcombe Road. Blacktown was on the rural outskirts of Sydney.
In 2026, we mark 150 years of Christ Church Blacktown. While Blacktown looks vastly different today – a thriving, multicultural city – the presence of God’s people, his church, continues to bring the wonderful hope of Jesus to people across the region.

The good news of Jesus is for people of every generation, every place, and every background. Today, Blacktown is a diverse community of peoples from across the world. And each one needs to know the saving hope that only Jesus can offer us. Our prayer is that God will continue to work in and through his church here, that many more might come to trust in Jesus as their king and saviour.
We are celebrating this milestone of God’s faithfulness over 150 years in our church with a special combined service.
Archbishop Kanishka Raffel will be joining us, and preaching for the occasion.
As part of the service, we’ll hear from many stories from those who have called Christ Church Blacktown a spiritual home through the years. We will sing, pray, and give thanks to God. We will share in a special morning tea after the service, with historical displays and a coffee van available.
Children will be invited to join a special kids program during the service. They are welcome to stay with parents for the full service. To assist with our planning, please register your children who will attend the kids program.
We would love to welcome you for this special occasion.
Please note: Due to expected numbers, parking on site will be reserved for those who need assistance. We ask that you plan to arrive early, and find suitable parking in the surrounding streets, or in the Blacktown Showground precinct across the road from the church building.
