In 1876, Christ Church Blacktown began in a small building on Flushcombe Road. Blacktown was on the rural outskirts of Sydney.
In 2026, we mark 150 years of Christ Church Blacktown. While Blacktown looks vastly different today – a thriving, multicultural city – the presence of God’s people, his church, continues to bring the wonderful hope of Jesus to people across the region.

The good news of Jesus is for people of every generation, every place, and every background. Today, Blacktown is a diverse community of peoples from across the world. And each one needs to know the saving hope that only Jesus can offer us. Our prayer is that God will continue to work in and through his church here, that many more might come to trust in Jesus as their king and saviour.
To celebrate the occasion of 150 years, we held a special service at 10am on Sunday 5th July, 2026. Archbishop Kanishka Raffel joined us, along with many former ministry staff and members. Below are some photos from the day.
