DESCRIPTION:This seminar will equip you to identify\, understand\, and show care for someone who is struggling with their mental health. All of us have a part to play in caring for those around us\, and sometimes it’s tricky to know how to help when those struggles have to do with mental health. \nWhat should we do when someone shares that they’re struggling with their mental health? What does it look like to practically care for someone? What are our limits? \nWe’ll be sharing lots of practical ways to know how to help (and what to avoid) as we care for those in need. \nThe seminar is hosted by Trinette Stanley. Trinette is part of Anglicare’s Family and Life Skills Education team\, working with local Churches to equip them with knowledge and skills to lovingly care for those who are wrestling with mental health concerns.

Why not come and flex your skills at our trivia fundraiser on August 5th. DESCRIPTION:This free seminar will outline the basics of sleep and explore a little of the science that underpins the advice you may have heard about improving your sleep. It will provide enough information to consider your personal sleep routine and the tool kit to enhance your chances of a good night’s rest (or understand when it may be time to seek advice from a health professional). \nDr Elizabeth Cayanan is an accredited Exercise Physiologist and Nutritionist and is also a clinical research fellow in the Sleep and Circadian Research group at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. Elizabeth is a full time Academic employed in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney where she leads research in the space of sleep\, metabolism and health. DESCRIPTION:They say that all men\, no matter how un-musical they are\, will sing out loud in at least one of the following five contexts: a sporting match\, a karaoke bar\, in the car\, in the shower\, or at church! How many of those 5 are you honest enough to admit to partaking in? \nComing up on Saturday 18th of June\, from 6pm to 8:30pm\, is our next Blacktown Anglican Church Men’s Event – a Men’s Dinner! Our theme for the evening will be that of MUSIC\, and in particular\, what does it mean for us as men to Treasure Jesus. The cost will be $25 per person\, which will include a hot dinner and dessert. \nOur guest speaker for the night will be Rev James Rogers. James has a Bachelor in Music Education\, as well as a Bachelor of Theology\, and is currently the Deputy Principal of The Illawarra Grammar School. James is a follower of Jesus\, a lover of music\, a great communicator\, and a genuinely decent guy! As well as hearing from James\, we’ll also have a panel of guys sharing about their own love for music\, and some music trivia. \nTo RSVP\, simply put your name down on the clipboard at church (there will be guys wandering around after the service each Sunday between now and the event) and pay on the night\, or you can register and pay online HERE.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s Know Jesus themed Women’s Event at Blacktown Anglican Church is happening on Saturday 18th of June\, as we livestream the 2022 Equip Conference! The first session starts at 10am and the conference concludes at 3pm. \nThe day will include two incredibly practical teaching sessions on the theme ‘City of Tears: When will God comfort” from the book of Lamentations\, plus a great lunch.
